Ogasawara-ryu Kyubajutsu Training Facility Unveiled in Nikko, Featured in Multiple Media Outlets

A new facility dedicated to preserving and teaching the ancient traditions of Ogasawara-ryu Kyubajutsu, a martial art passed down since the Kamakura period, has been unveiled in Nikko City.

Managed by Jidaimura Co., Ltd., the facility includes a dedicated Kyudo (archery) dojo and a yabusame (mounted archery) course, ensuring that the techniques and spirit of this historic art will continue to be passed on to future generations. This opening has garnered attention from multiple media outlets.

On September 8th, a purification ceremony was held with around 60 attendees to mark the opening of the facility. Ogasawara-ryu Kyubajutsu also conducts sacred yabusame ceremonies at Nikko Toshogu Shrine, held annually during the spring and autumn festivals.

In addition to training Ogasawara-ryu students, the facility offers hands-on experiences for the public, including archery and mounted archery programs. Jidaimura Co., Ltd. is proud to have established this platform for promoting and preserving traditional Japanese culture.
